The Answers:
What type of wood do you use? For the Classic Contemporary line, we use three different woods. For 'Clear Maple', we use maple. For 'Clear Cherry', we use cherry. For 'Chestnut', 'Burgundy Cherry' and 'Walnut Glaze' we use alder. The first two colors are the natural color of the wood with a clear finish. The last three colors are stained and glazed finishes. We use alder because it gives a good base from which to achieve the desired color. |
Where do you use solid wood and where do you use veneer? We use plywood veneers to build the interior casework for the cabinets. This is the most economical and stable material to use for this part of the cabinetry. The top, base or skirt, doors and some elements of the end panels are solid wood. Others parts of the cabinetry are some combination of both. |
Is the color of the speaker grill the same for all colors? The color of the grill cloth that covers the speaker compartments is black for all cabinet colors. However, different acoustic fabric colors are available upon special request. |
What is Active Thermal Management? Active Thermal Management is a system developed by a company of the same name. This system was developed by installers specifically for the purpose of cooling equipment compartments of A/V cabinets. The system is thermally controlled, varying its temperature-lowering capacity via a proprietary state-of-the-art pulse-signal generator. As the temperature rises in the equipment compartment, the whisper-quiet fans increase speed in proportion to the increase in temperature. As the temperature falls, the fans slow … only stopping when the enclosure has completely cooled. For more information visit our Thermal Management product pages or Active thermal Management's web site. |
Are there custom configurations available? Yes. Please contact us and we can design a custom HDTV credenza for you. The only limitation is our ability to crate and ship the custom cabinet. We can also upon request vary the styling within the different cabinet configurations that we offer. Give us a call or send an email with the design/style elements that you would like to incorporate into our furniture. |
Do you make media drawers for just CDs or DVDs? Our media drawers have a unique adjustable divider system that allows a drawer to be set up by you to store either DVDs or set up to store CDs. The spacing for the CD is designed to accommodate DVD Audio as well. Models 2, 2s and 4 have drawers that accommodate both CDs and DVDs at the same time. Images: CD set-up, DVD set-up. |
What is the lead time for the Credenzas? Each HDTV credenza is made to order. Depending on our production schedule the lead time may vary. Typically your cabinet will be shipped to you in 8 weeks or less. We will provide you with a schedule for delivery upon receiving your order. If you have special time sensitive delivery concerns, please contact us and we will do our best accommodate them. All other products are shipped within 10 days. Accessories are typically shipped within 24hrs.

Can we have a custom stain applied to the cabinets? Yes. You would need to send us a sample (on wood) of the color that you would like to match and we will have our finishers formulate a finish for you. We would send you the sample of the finish on the wood that your cabinet would be made from for your approval. There is an up charge for this service. The amount would be determined by the type of finish and the number of steps that it takes to achieve it. |
Can we have glass in the door panel instead of wood? Yes. Although with an Infra-red repeater or RF remote it is possible to control your system behind closed doors, we understand that some clients would still like to be able to see the displays on their components. Keep in mind that the frame of the doors will encroach on the component compartments by approximately 1 1/2". |
Are there support braces in the center channel compartments? The span/width of the center channel compartments require bracing to help support the top and the weight of the TV. When you place your order, we will ask you for the dimension of your center channel speaker. We will then place interior supports in that compartment. If you would rather not commit to your existing center channel speaker, we can provide you with the support pieces that you can stand up in the compartment. You can then move them at a later date as needed. |
How will I be able to control my components using a remote control with the doors of the credenza closed? In order to control your equipment through the closed
doors, you can do this with a Infra-red Repeater. |
